Sketches from the weekend

I went away this weekend with some people of the studentsclub to Zeeland (it's on the buttom of the Netherlands). They were great models.

time to practise!

At last, during this vacation I was able to practise at painting. The Donnatella Versace caricature isn't finished yet, but I'll try to complete her picture when I have time. Anyway I'm so happy to have spend some time painting!

old sketches 2

I remember when I sketched the girl, I fell in love with her dreamy, sad looking eyes.
Anyway, when I have the time, I want to post some anatomy studies; studying anatomy and figure drawing is what I love most of all. So be prepared: there'll be arms, feet, necks, hands, legs, backs, shoulders...and here's an old one to start with.

blowing of steam

is that an expression in English?
Regretting the fact that I've had so little time the last few weeks to draw anything, it annoyes me when drawings don't turn out the way I want them to. But enough complaints..better luck next time.

Old stuff...
...if all goes well, this Friday, I'll do some painting again (after all my 'tentamens' and a whole bunch of other commitments...I'm soo looking forward to it!!)

first storyboard sequence

These are some images of my first storyboard, made for a wonderful studentfilm. I LOVED the flight of adrenaline rushing through my veins when, during my meetings with the director, I was forced to draw appealing images on the spot. It was such a challenge!

storyboards

Although my drawing-time is spare these days, I can still find time every now and then to illustrate some storyboards.

Another favourite: Paul Gillon

This French artist is best known for his comicbook series titled "Les Naufrages du temps" (Castaways in Time) On the "Rules of Attraction" website (http://profmendez.tripod.com), you can read a thorough review of his work; it clearly shows his extroardinary drawing ability.

old drawings

Today when I left my parents home and went to Utrecht I forgot my pencils and sketchbook! Today I'm sort of paralysed.

Jose Ortiz

New drawings are on their way of roommates, cavemen, perhaps 'fashion-type' drawings?
In the meantime,..enjoy this artist's work! Jose Ortiz is as far as I'm concerned one of the best Spanish comicartists around; especially his older pen&ink work is worth checking out! You can find his work in Eerie and Creepy magazines.

Utrecht at its best!

Yesterday for only a few minutes the sky over Utrecht was heavenly! A roommate shot the pictures.
